I have a zillion authors I admire. One of my all-time favorites is Jean Shepherd who was a radio personality and whose short stories were turned into the movie “A Christmas Story.” If I had one wish for everyone who loves books, it would be to read “Wanda Hickey’s Night of Golden Memories” by Jean Shepherd.

I always write about characters that ASPIRE to something. I’m from New Jersey, and if you don’t ASPIRE to something, you end up… well, in New Jersey.

I have this enormous dog called a Leonberger, and most of our family “hobby” time is spent taking our giant dog for a walk to the park.

I think the difference between being a writer and not being a writer isn’t whether or not you get paid, it is not giving up. Every real writer wants to give up sometimes, and then finds a way not to give up.
