Shape-shifting. Definitely. That’s like having all the superpowers wrapped into one. If you want to fly, you become a hawk, if you want super speed, you can become a cheetah. Dive to the bottom of the ocean? You can be a whale. Plus, you can be anybody you want to be as well, and still have the benefit of coming back to being yourself at the end of the day. What could be better? I think writing is like mental shape-shifting, but it would be cool to be able to do it physically as well!

Lyah LeFlore on “If you could have any super power, what would it be?”
The power to transport myself from city to city, country to country, and even back in time or into the future. And then I’d like to have the added power of making myself invisible that way I could be in the room and no one would know I was there. I could see and hear conversations with world leaders. Of course I totally trust my boyfriend, but now that I think about it, having these super powers could even help me check in on him to make sure he’s sitting at home on a Friday night thinking about me and watching tv and not hanging out at the club with his boys!
Ellen Hopkins on “If you could have any super power, what would it be?”
I would be a shapeshifter. That way I could run fast, fly, jump over stuff, go invisible. Whatever it took.
Oscar Hijuelos on “If you could have any super power, what would it be?”
I’d love to be able to make everyone happy.
Allison Van Diepenon on “If you could have any super power, what would it be?”
Great question! I’d love to be able to teleport (like in the movie Jumper) and time travel at the same time. I’d just think of a place and a time period – and bam! – I’d be there. I would love to visit ancient societies, to be present at momentous historic events, and even to hang out with my grandparents when they were teens!
